BACKSTAGE AT THE LOOKBOOK SHOOTING OF BARRE NOIRE

As you may already have seen on the blog, I did a post some weeks ago about the Berlin based fashion label barre noire. Yesterday I had the chance to visit the shooting of the latest collection which was shown in early July during Berlin Fashion Week.
During the 6 hours of being there, I did hundrets of photos, so don't wonder at the heap of pictures down here!

INSTAGRAM DIARY IV

After a 13h bus tour I finally arrived in Berlin on thursday night. The feeling that I am here as a tourist is still inside my head and I guess this will stay as long as I haven't found a flat here.
When I checked my instagram that morning (@youngvanity) I decided to do a new diary for you, because the photos I do upload there are much more than I do here on the blog.

1. Kate Moss by Steven Klein at the Steven Klein exhibition last week in Mitte.
2. Summer favourite: Ice cold water with mint and lemon at Dudu
3. New in: New Balance super white running shoes
4. The most wonderful toilet in Berlin at Odessa Bar

5. Cute clouds a few weeks ago
6. Self portait
7. Last week when I was on my way home from Berlin
8. My latest obsession by Givenchy

9. After 3 days of fashion week my feet were cluttered with blisters so I bought these super confortable Converse chucks
10. Sale shopping at Acne last week
11. Statement of the day

MBFW BERLIN // FRIDA WEYER RUNWAY SHOW

My personal favourites of Frida Weyer's SS 2013 collection were defenetly the floral embroidered jackets, dresses and clutches as you can see on the first picture, James Goldstein sitting front row directly vis-à-vis to me and the all in white outfits in combination with these beautiful looking runway models.
I guess that this will be one of my last fashion week posts due to the fact that I ran to the tent without my camera on saturday - silly me.
Have a nice sunday!

This is just a small random diary post from my last stay in Berlin during fashion week, my birthday and the time when I searched for a flat.

2. My new black/white leather shoes by Doc Martens.
3. Neon lights at a random bar in Mitte.
4. Cool drinks with Jan.
5. Inner yard at Vapiano.
6. Jan's first tattoo.
7. I never thought that searching for a little flat or a room in Berlin would be that hard.

MBFW BERLIN // PERRET SCHAAD RUNWAY SHOW

Perret Schaad SS 2013 was simply wonderful - nothing special, but still or because of that wonderful. I loved the soft fabrics in combination with the clear and unvaried colors.
Ps: Did you recoginze my beautiful friend and former co-blogger Jada walking a perfect walk on the last pictures down here?

I tried to film the final walk (and Jada) as good as possible with my iPhone, but I guess I am not the best filmer. Anyway - does anyone of you know the title of this fucking amazing song please? I need it so bad! (Make sure to watch the video in HD)

MBFW BERLIN // EP_ANOUI STUDIO PRESENTATION

The reason for showing you the collection of the fashion label ep_anoui by Eva Poleschinski are not the elaborate knitted garnments or the sneaky tailored pants in snake skin looks - No, the reason for showing you these photos are the absolutely amazing but (as one of the models told me "These heels are killing me") unwearable heels by United Nude Vienna. I love them!

THE SHIT SHOP OPENING BY BONNIE STRANGE

Because I am busy searching for my perfect new home here in Berlin, I couldn't post any pictures of Berlin Fashion Week sooner - sorry for that! But now, here we go with the coolest event of this seasons fashion week: The Shit Shop opening show and party by the wonderful Miss Bonnie Strange.
Without being wordy I just want to share my favorite (mostly male) looks with you, Bonnie designed herself during the last two (!!!) weeks. It had been a great night with great drinks, great people and the greatest (and trashiest) 90s music ever. I am so happy I didn't miss it! :)
Sorry for this error with the pictures in the last days, I don't know the reason for it but now it's fixed!

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW // MICHAEL TINTIUC

More than half a year ago, I had the pleasure to interview the fashion designer Dawid Tomaszewski. Today, simuntaneously to the start of the Berlin Fashion Week, the multitalent (model, designer, skater, singer, ...) Michael Tintiuc faced up to my 7 questions and this is the result:
  1. You were born and you grew up in Chisinau, Moldova which doesn't seem to be the worlds fashion hot-spot. How did your interest in fashion and modeling arouse? Which were your first steps into fashion scene?
It's hard to define the exact moment when I did something right, something that got me into the fashion world, as I don't think that I'm “connected” to it, although I understand that I am somewhat a part of this huge industry.
At the age of 18, as any other modern teenager, I had access to the vast virtual world of internet, where you can find any information about things that are absent or not well developed in your city or country. I'm not going to lie, when I left Chisinau to Moscow I wasn't making any plans of an instant success in modeling, actually I didn't even plan, I simply acted.
Like most adequate people, at 18 I started to actively search for myself and this search, with an advice from my friends at LIRFON'S, started from modeling in Moscow.
  1. Besides your work as a model (including jobs for Z Zegna, Rick Owens, Vogue, Vman and co.), you and your girlfriend are working as designers for a fashion label - What's the story about „Lirfon's“?
The story about LIRFON'S, first of all, does not tell the story of the creation of the brand, as a commercial organization. LIRFON'S is a team of friends, who knew each other since childhood, passionate about art and keen to make their ideas and thoughts their own reality.
One of the activities that LIRFON'S is involved in is a hand-made limited edition clothing line.
LIRFON'S is an abbreviation and only few know it's meaning.
Besides clothing we also do photography, styling, modeling, music and other activities in the artistic field of work.
  1. When did you stop going to a hairdresser? Your thoughts about androgyinity?
I think I was about 15 years old the last time I was at a hairdresser. After that, my friends were the only ones who'd cut my long hair.
Androgynity – a trend, blown out of proportion for the masses. There have always been people whose look was pleasing or not, there have been man-like women and men with tender facial features. Androgynity has been largely picked up by the gay community, which made it even more popular.
Let's take the 60-70's music and surf cultures, boys were skinny, had long hair and a lot of them had sophisticated facial features and an overall refined appearance, but nobody would talk about androgynitity, as men would still behave themselves as men.
I don't consider myself and androgen as I am a man in all senses of this word and thank God I don't fall under the statement that a man should only be a little prettier than an ape.
It would make more sense if those who use this term would actually consider the word's actual meaning and look a bit into mythology, where it's said that Androgenes where mythical creatures that combined male and female sexual traits, thus becoming sexless.
That's why I can't understand how a 100% boy or a 100% girl can be called an androgen.
  1. Define your own style.
    60's Psychedelic.
  1. Besides fashion you also love music and skateboarding. Could you decide between the three? Which passion infuses you the most with joy?
Every passion of mine is directly related to various stages of me growing up, forming as a personality and various life phases. If I'd choose one thing over another I would not be who I am.
I'm not a supporter of a narrow mind. I think that harmony and inner freedom can be achieved only if the person understand the world and himself by looking from absolutely different point of views and being involved in various activities, even though if they won't become a profession or the main field of work, but remain as a personal hobby, something for your soul. The most important things are the emotions and knowledge that you get in the end.
You can be a billionaire, that invests in green technology, paints on week-ends and builds miniature airplanes out of paper or you can be a billionaire who is the same as the majority of the Earth population - only eats, sleeps and gives away orders to subordinates to raise his self-esteem.
    Can you see the difference?
That's why I'm happy by the fact that I can try myself in any field of work that I am interested in. Otherwise, what's the point in living?
  1. What are the things you always keep with you/ in you bag?
    Yes, humanity.
  1. What are your plans for the future? Do you have a big dream to be fulfilled in the next few years?
May be I'm a bit superstitious, but I prefer not to speak of my plans and dreams, until the moment they come true, as everything that's said, loses it's power and value.
I can only say that the most important and the biggest dream in my life is to live my life in happiness and harmony, having no regrets that I've spent my life on things that didn't matter.

Thanks for the open-minded interview, Michael!
